Techwave
Techwave needed to launch with organic visibility from day one, with no domain authority or content base. Getting the SEO foundation right pre-launch was the difference between a discoverable platform and an invisible one - and the rankings achieved have persisted for years through a full rebrand.
Overview
Client: Techwave.ge
Industry: Tech Recruitment / Job Portal
Region: Georgia (Caucasus)
Engagement: External SEO Consultant - 2-3 months
Role: SEO Consultant
Techwave.ge is a job portal for Georgia's tech industry, built to connect local companies with talent. Developed by a larger regional tech firm, the platform needed to establish organic visibility before launch - without an existing domain authority, backlink profile, or content base to build on.
The team brought me in as an external SEO consultant to design a launch-ready SEO framework: one that would lay the technical foundations, define the content approach, and give the internal team a clear, actionable checklist to follow post-launch. The goal wasn't just to tick boxes - it was to make sure that when the platform went live, search engines could find it, understand it, and rank it for the right queries.
The Technical Challenge
React SPA vs. Search Engine Discoverability
The platform was built as a React single-page application (SPA). While this is a solid choice for user experience, it creates a significant SEO risk: client-side rendered SPAs often leave search engine bots crawling empty shells - JavaScript-dependent pages that don't expose content until the browser executes the code.
Early in the engagement, I flagged this risk and facilitated a strategic conversation with the development team. The key question was whether Techwave's growth would be driven primarily by organic search - and the answer was yes. That made the technical architecture a business-critical decision, not just a developer preference.
What Was Evaluated
- Full server-side rendering (SSR) - ruled out due to rebuild complexity and timelines
- Client-side only - not viable for a search-dependent platform
- Static HTML pre-rendering for bot-facing pages - selected as the pragmatic path forward
The team implemented static HTML pre-rendering for key page types, serving fully-formed HTML to bots while preserving the React experience for real users. This gave us indexability without requiring a full rebuild.
The SEO Framework
A launch readiness checklist across four pillars.
1. Technical SEO
- Static HTML pre-rendering implemented for job listings, company profiles, and category pages
- Crawlability audit: XML sitemap, robots.txt configuration, canonical tags, and URL structure review
- Page speed and Core Web Vitals baseline assessment
- Internal linking architecture defined across platform page types
2. On-Page Optimization
- Keyword mapping across primary page types: job listings, categories, company profiles
- Title tag and meta description templates created for dynamic pages
- Heading hierarchy (H1-H3) guidelines for consistent on-page structure
- Content guidelines for job listing pages to improve relevance signals
3. Schema Markup
- JobPosting schema implemented for all active job listings
- Organization schema configured for company profile pages
- Structured data tested and validated for Google Search Console eligibility
4. Content Strategy
- Target keyword clusters identified: tech jobs in Georgia, company-specific queries, role-based searches
- Content brief templates created for category and landing pages
- Recommendations for an ongoing editorial calendar to build topical authority over time
Results
Platform Traction and Sustained Organic Visibility
Within weeks of launch, Techwave.ge began attracting inbound registrations from tech companies - a direct signal that the platform was discoverable by the right audience. The steady rate of company sign-ups demonstrated that organic search was working as an acquisition channel without paid support.
- 50+ tech companies registered organically post-launch
- Page 1 ranking for "tech companies in Georgia" - sustained to this day
- Page 2 ranking for "tech jobs in Georgia" - a high-intent commercial query
These rankings have persisted despite a brand rebrand the platform underwent after the initial launch.
Key Takeaways
What This Engagement Demonstrated
- Constraint analysis first: Understanding the React SPA limitation early allowed us to recommend a solution that fit within the team's technical capacity and timeline - not an ideal-world answer, but the right one.
- SEO is a product decision: Framing the rendering conversation as a business risk - not a developer debate - got the right stakeholders engaged and led to a practical resolution.
- Schema markup for dynamic platforms: JobPosting and Organization schema gave Techwave.ge an immediate structural advantage over competitors who hadn't implemented structured data.
- Launch readiness vs. ongoing SEO: This engagement was scoped as a foundation-build, not a retainer. The checklist-driven approach gave the internal team clear ownership of what to execute post-handoff.
- Results that outlast the engagement: Rankings achieved through a solid technical and content foundation have proven durable - surviving a full rebrand and years without active SEO management.
