This Cookie Policy explains how I, Lachezar Simeonov, use cookies and similar tracking technologies on my website, https://lsimeonov.com/ ("Site"), to enhance your experience and analyze performance. This policy is part of my overall Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They help the site recognize your device and remember your preferences or actions.
2. Types of cookies I use

3. Full inventory of what is stored
This is the complete list of cookies and browser-storage entries used on this Site:
- cookie-consent (first-party localStorage, 365 days): your cookie category choices and the date you made them.
- cookie-consent-set (first-party cookie, 365 days): a simple flag so the banner does not flash on your next visit.
- theme (first-party localStorage): your light/dark display preference.
- _ga, _ga_<container> (Google Analytics 4, up to 14 months, analytics consent only): distinguish visitors and sessions. IP anonymisation is enabled.
- __anon_sid (first-party sessionStorage, cleared when you close the tab, analytics consent only): a random ID used to count a visit once per day in my first-party page-view table. It is not linked to your identity.
- _GRECAPTCHA (Google reCAPTCHA v3): spam scoring for the contact form. Loaded only when you start interacting with the form, not on ordinary page views.
- Calendly cookies (Calendly LLC, marketing consent only): set by the scheduling widget embedded on the contact page so it can remember your booking session. The embed is not loaded and no Calendly cookie is set unless you accept the marketing category.
My first-party page-view records store page path, referring domain, country from the request headers, user agent, screen width, browser language, the session ID above, and a timestamp. No IP addresses are stored. See the Privacy Policy for retention details.
4. Managing your cookie preferences
When you first visit my Site, a consent banner appears allowing you to:
- Accept all cookies
- Reject all non-essential cookies
- Customize by category (necessary, analytics, preferences, marketing)
Rejecting is exactly one click, just like accepting - no non-essential cookie is set unless you opt in. You can change your mind at any time:
- Click the "Cookie Preferences" button in the website footer to reopen the banner.
- Adjust the category toggles and save your preferences.
- Or clear cookies in your browser settings (consult your browser's help for instructions).
Your choice is remembered for 365 days. After that, or if you clear your browser storage, you will be asked again.
5. Disabling cookies via your browser
You may also disable cookies directly in your browser. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may break site functionality.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Block all cookies
- Edge: Settings → Site permissions → Cookies and site data

6. Third-party cookies
Two third parties can set cookies here. Google - Google Analytics 4 (consent signals are denied by default, and the Google Analytics script is not even requested until you accept analytics) and reCAPTCHA v3 on the contact form. Calendly LLC - the scheduling embed on the contact page, which loads only after you accept the marketing category. I do not run session-recording, heatmap, advertising, or email-marketing tools on this Site. For details on their own processing, see Google's and Calendly's privacy and cookie policies.
7. Your rights and complaints
You can withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer. Your full data protection rights - access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability - are described in the Privacy Policy.
Right to lodge a complaint: if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you may complain to the Bulgarian supervisory authority - the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP), 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., Sofia 1592, Bulgaria, email kzld@cpdp.bg, cpdp.bg - or to the supervisory authority in your own EU country of residence.
